Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company plc Troy Technology was engaged to provide expertise in the areas of requirements analysis, software design and program specification, coding and unit testing, system testing, implementation, technical support and developer supervision, and user training and support for the development of the entirely new Homechoice and Primechoice insurance underwriting systems for property / home contents / travel insurance, and the entirely new Flexible Rating and Index Linking systems used to underpin the Homechoice and Primechoice products. During this project, related amendments were made to the Agents Database system. The above systems were developed in CICS / COBOL2 / VSAM in an IBM 3090 / MVS environment with interfacing to the Claims and Accountancy systems held in an IMS / DLI database on a separate IBM mainframe. An entirely new Policy Renewals sub-system was developed as a separate project after implementing Homechoice and Primechoice in support of those products.
